Dreams

Dreams often fail because dreams are what people want more than anything in the world. Which often times means they are unrealistic. People set standards that are way too high so its impossible to achieve their goal. People dream and it's something so amazing that sometimes you believe it is really even though the truth is the dream will never come true. Dreams are usually so out of reach, that's why they are dreams. It's like if you could have one thing in the world you can't really have it. Because dreams are usually something out of this world. Something that when you get it everything will be perfect, but nothings perfect. Dreams will always be just dreams, nothing more.
Of course you should dream, it gives you something to work towards, but you will most likely end up sad because you couldn't get what you wanted. It's like the "reach for the moon, if you miss you will at least land in the stars." The moon are your dreams, way out of reach, impossible to get to, but the stars are almost as good. The second best thing is the stars, what you may get if you try hard enough to get your dream.

Where You Belong

Everyone needs a place to belong. Everyone needs someone to love them. No one likes to feel lonely. It's nice to be able to be with people who you can feel comfortable around. Someplace you can do whatever you want and no one will judge you. The truth is, most people want to be wanted, that is just how it is. If you have nowhere to belong you are on your own. If you are alone all your feelings will got bottled up until you finally explode.
Even if the place you belong is at home, at least you have somewhere to go. Somewhere that makes you feel safe and not insecure. Having a place you belong allows you to be yourself. No one likes to be on the outside. Especially as kids, kids are growing up and are vulnerable and scared, they need a good place to fit in and people that will help them. What are you supposed to do without a place to belong...? The hard part is finding where you belong.

True Friend

To me a true friend is someone you can go to for anything. Someone you can talk to about anything, but at the same time, when you just need to have fun it is easy for them to make you happy. Someone who knows who you really are, but loves you anyway. Friends are people you just like being around. Someone honest, loyal, funny, considerate, and fun. A true friend is someone you can just hang out with. There is never a dull moment with a true friend, and even when it is silent, there is never an awkward silence. They will be there for you when no one else is. Friends are there with you no matter what. They don't hold grudges and they don't let stupid things get in the way of your friendship. You might fight sometimes, but you always make it right in the end. They will encourage you and accept you when you change, but keep you going down the right path.

Rich or friends?

In my opinion it is more important to have close friends. Being rich isn't a necessity but my close friends mean the world to me. Some people spend loads of money to feel better, but it's healthier to talk it out with friends. Money isn't everything. You just need enough to get the basic life needs like food and clothes. Close friends are someone to talk to, who will always be there for you. You don't need extra money. You don't need fancy clothes and such, but in my opinion friends are much more necessary. Friends make you happy, money can't make you happy. With out friends you would feel lonely, no one wants to feel lonely. Friends allow you to have fun. With money you can buy a lot and go shopping all the time, but if I went shopping a lone I would feel like a total loser. Friends just make the world more fun. Money just gets you things, often times things you don't really need. Friends are people with emotions and you can do whatever you want with him, money is just an object. Money can't be there for you like people. You can't spend time with money. Money really can not make you happy.

Romeo and Juliet Reflection

1. What do you think of Capulet's orders that Juliet marry Paris? Was he correct to do so? Why or why not?
Since Capulet wasn't aware of Juliet's love for Romeo, I think he had more of a right to force her into that marriage, however even if he did know about Romeo I'm sure he still wouldn't approve. Paris did seem like a nice gentlemen so I can understand why he thinks he would be a good match for his daughter, but he was too intense about it. Threatening to kick his own daughter out of the house is too extreme, he needs to understand that she just doesn't want to be with Paris. As a dad he should just want Juliet to be happy. However at the same time he just doesn't understand why such a successful man couldn't make her happy so his intensions are good for the most part, he is just being to harsh.
2. Would you have lied to your whole family if you were in Juliet's position? Why or why not?
I think I would've lied. Based on the Capulet's reaction when Juliet said she didn't want to marry Paris I would be way to scared to tell him I'm in love with someone from the opposing house. For all we know he would've killed Romeo. Or forced Juliet to marry Paris immediately. I think since the rivalry is so big between the houses it was a wise decision not to tell anyone but the nurse. However, it would be really hard to keep something so big such a secret.
3. Do you think The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is really a tragedy? Explain your response.
I think in same ways it is, in others it isn't. Honestly, I think they were just two foolish kids. They might have been in love, but who knows how real their love really was. It was stupid for them to kill themselves. It's not really a tragedy, but it was unfortunate. Romeo kills himself because Juliet is apparently dead, but when she wakes to find Romeo dying, she kills herself. IT was more unlucky then full on tragedy. Especially if it brought the houses together.
4. Why does Juliet kill herself when she could be free?
I think it was a stupid idea, but at the same time it was a smart thing to do. She already faked a death so she didn't have to be with Paris because she wanted to be with Romeo. If she was going through all that and everyone thought she was in there dead already she might as well be. It just seems like that was her only choice at the moment.
5. How would you feel if you were one of the parents in one of those families after all this happened?
I would feel really stupid. Honestly, because if the parents couldv'e just worked it out and accepted it it all would have been fine. Now they both have lost close family all for a reason they can't even remember any more. Especially if i was Juliet's dad. He pressured her so much and now she's gone. I would feel like such a jerk. If the familes got a long it would all be fine.
